Dry cupping,
explained.

Myofascial dry cupping uses negative pressure in cups placed on the skin.
It may be used alongside sports massage as part of a treatment for muscular tension, depending on your goals, treatment findings, preferences and suitability. Responses vary and evidence for benefits is still developing.
What does it feel like?
You may feel a pulling or stretching sensation. Cups may stay in place or be moved where appropriate. Pressure and comfort are checked with you throughout.
Temporary marks
Circular marks or bruising can occur and may remain for several days. These marks are not evidence of toxins being removed or a measure of treatment effectiveness.
Suitability comes first
Health history, skin condition, medication and bleeding or bruising risks are considered during screening. It may not be appropriate over broken or irritated skin or for some health conditions. Lewis will explain the technique, discuss suitability and obtain consent before using it.
Dry cupping is optional. You can choose sports massage without it, or withdraw consent at any time.
